Joyful Reveal: the gender reveal game your guests actually play
You know whether it's a boy or a girl. Your family and friends don't — yet. Joyful Reveal turns that announcement into a twenty-minute game: two teams, eleven funny “mum or dad?” questions, eleven puzzle pieces to win — and a twelfth piece that gets scratched off and tells the whole room at the very same second.
It's a real cardboard game in a real box, posted from Belgium to your door. Nothing else to buy, no afternoon of preparation: you open the box and the game takes care of the rest.

How a game plays out
There is no complicated set-up and nothing extra to buy. You pick the questions, you split the room into two teams, and from there it runs on its own. Count on about twenty minutes, for two to ten players.

You get the game ready
The parents-to-be choose the eleven “mum or dad?” questions the players will have to answer. The answer is always either mum or dad — and the whole thing is meant to be taken with a large pinch of humour. Who sings the worst lullabies? Who will cry first at a cartoon? The scratch piece stays well hidden until the end.

Two teams face off
Split your guests into two camps: those betting on a girl and those betting on a boy. Everyone defends their hunch out loud, half the family suddenly turns expert, and the atmosphere builds all by itself.

Every correct answer wins a puzzle piece
The team that answers correctly first takes a piece. This is where the laughing starts. Eleven pieces later, the two teams put the puzzle together on the table — and realise that exactly one piece is still missing.

The twelfth piece gets scratched
A tie-breaker guess about the baby's first year decides who is allowed to scratch the last piece. A short silence, then the shout. This is the moment your family will still be retelling in ten years' time.

What's inside the box
Inside there are eleven ordinary puzzle pieces, won one question at a time, and one piece that is not ordinary at all: it carries a silver scratch panel, and it is the piece that gives everything away. Box and pieces are cardboard — no electronics, no batteries, nothing to charge.
The game comes in a girl version and a boy version. You pick the right one when you order, and nobody else needs to know which — the scratch piece keeps the secret until the party itself.

The extras that make the evening
The two cotton pouches are labelled Team 1 and Team 2: guests pick their side as they walk in, and the game more or less starts itself. The question sheet is printed on 400 gsm card, with a scoring column for each team and a blank template you can fill in with your own eleven questions, in English or in any language your table speaks.
And the keepsake envelope? That's where the completed question sheet goes once the party is over. It's made to be taped to the back of a picture frame, which is exactly where most people end up putting it.
Something to keep, long after the party
Once the guests have gone home, the finished puzzle is still sitting on the table: 14 × 21 cm, which happens to be the size of an ordinary shop-bought picture frame. Plenty of parents frame it and hang it in the nursery — the day everybody found out, in a single image on the wall.
With the Premium pack you write the winning team on the question sheet, along with who got to scratch the piece and the date it happened. Once it's filled in, it slides into the keepsake envelope and goes behind the frame. In ten years you open it again together.
A word about language, honestly
Joyful Reveal was designed in Belgium, and the box is printed in French. On the back of the box you'll find a short bilingual French/English summary of the four steps, so an English-speaking table can set up straight away without translating anything.
The full rules — including the eleven ready-written questions — are online in English at mirumgames.com/regles-de-jeu, and the QR code on the box takes you straight there. In practice this matters less than you might think: the game is played out loud. Whoever hosts reads the questions to the room, so you can run the whole thing in English from a phone or a printed sheet. The Premium pack's blank template is there for exactly that — write your own eleven questions in your own words and pass the sheet around.

Your order leaves Belgium within one to two working days. We deliver to Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, either to your door or to a pick-up point near you.
Shipping starts at €3.77 and is calculated at checkout from your country and the delivery method you choose. What you see is the carrier's own price, to the cent — we don't add a margin on top of it.
You have fourteen days after delivery to change your mind, as European consumer law provides for online purchases. You don't need to create an account either: an email address is enough to receive your confirmation and your tracking link.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can play?
From 2 to 10 players, suitable from age three. A game lasts about twenty minutes — short enough to be the highlight of the party rather than the whole programme, long enough to let the tension build properly.
Do the parents find out through the game too?
The game comes in a girl version and a boy version, and you choose when ordering. If you don't know yourself yet, ask someone who does to place the order for you — that way you discover it at the same moment as your guests.
What language are the rules in?
The full rules are available in English online, via the QR code on the box or directly on our site. The summary printed on the box itself is bilingual French/English; the rest of the box is in French.
Can we write our own questions?
Please do. The only rule: there must be exactly two possible answers, “mum” or “dad”. The Premium pack includes a blank template made for precisely that, and the funniest games are usually the ones with home-made questions.
Can children join in?
Yes — the questions are simple enough for a three-year-old to shout out a guess, and older siblings are usually the loudest players at the table. Because of the small parts, the game stays unsuitable for children under three.
Does it work as a gift?
